NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 13 – Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet on Monday ordered six Members of Parliament to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to record statements over alleged hate speech.
Three of the Jubilee MPs are Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Kabete’s Ferdinand Waititu and Kimani Ngunjiri of Bahati.
From the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD), Boinnet ordered Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, Kilifi County Woman Representative Aisha Jumwa and Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire to also record statements with the DCI.
Waititu and Kuria are already facing previous action over incitement to violence.

On the other hand, Ngunjiri was said to have incited youths in Nakuru ‘to evict members of a certain community’.
CORD’s Jumwa, Junet and Bosire while addressing a press conference in Nairobi on Monday were accused of making offensive utterances when they said CORD has supporters who they can ask to defend themselves if the government fails to act on their calls to arrest Jubilee MPs over alleged hate speech.
The MPs said they would ask their supporters to take action if the government failed to respond to their complaints within the next 24 hours.
Earlier on Monday, Boinnet said police were probing two video clips implicating Kuria and Waititu.

He warned that no one will be spared for using hate speech.
