NAIROBI, Kenya, May 15 – President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit to the Lower Eastern counties of Machakos, Makueni and Kitui which was scheduled for May 19, 20 and 21 has been postponed to June.

State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said a new date for the visit to the region will be announced later.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit to the Lower Eastern counties of Machakos, Makueni and Kitui scheduled for May 19, 20 and 21 has been put back to June,” Esipisu said.

He says the change of dates was to have additional time will allow completion of preparations for the visit.

President Kenyatta plans to interact with leaders and residents and to exchange views on the region’s development needs.

“President Kenyatta is looking forward to the visit to interact with leaders and residents and to exchange views on the region’s development needs,” Esipisu added.

The delegation was led by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu.
