NAIROBI, Kenya, May 19 – President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are set to begin a three day visit to the North Eastern region on Thursday.

A statement from State House indicated that during the tour, the two will meet leaders in the area, interact with citizens, and review and support the North Eastern development agenda.

“The President begins his tour of the region in Mandera County where he will launch, inspect and commission roads, an airport, as well as address public gatherings,” the statement pointed out.

On Friday, President Kenyatta and Ruto will tour Wajir County where they will launch several development projects.

The President will commission a Medical Training College as well as a hospital.

“He will review the program of the roll out of the Digital Literacy Program popularly known as the laptop project,” the statement went on to say.

The two leaders will end the North Eastern tour in Garissa County on Saturday where they will launch and commission projects.

President Kenyatta and Ruto will also review the progress of key water projects in the area as well as visit Garissa University College.
