Two cartridges recovered in Juma’s murder case – Muhoro

But Muhoro has said the “truth can only be known once investigations are completed. Let’s not speculate.”

According to a report filed in the Occurrence Book at the Karen Police Station, Juma’s two mobile phones, cash in local and foreign currency were found intact in the car and in his pockets—an indication that nothing was stolen from him.

“This is a clear case of assassination, Juma was assassinated and we cannot trust the police to conduct the investigations,” Odinga said when he visited the family earlier in the week while demanding for foreign investigators to be invited.

“We want President Uhuru Kenyatta to do the honourable thing and invite the Scotland Yard to probe this matter that is the only way the truth can be known. This is what happened when Robert Ouko was killed.”

Juma was known for courting controversies on various issues on his Twitter handle when commenting on topical issues of the day.

In what appears to have been a premonition of his death, Juma tweeted on March 25 that “Freedom is expensive? Death is a must for everybody. I will NOT fear death and stay in comfort zone as majority of Kenyans suffer anymore.”

Some other CORD Members of Parliament have called for the formation of a commission of inquiry to investigate the murder.

The MPs said the death of the businessman was ‘politically motivated’ stemming from his online criticism of corruption in government and the society.

“From our party Ford Kenya, for which Jacob Juma was a vibrant supporter, we demand a statement from government surrounding circumstances that led to his assassination; we want to be told who assassinated him and why,” Wetangula demanded.

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale urged investigators to conduct proper investigations which should also include interviewing people who the late Juma had adversely linked to his assassination in posts on his Twitter handle.

“As a community where Juma came from, we will not sleep or tire until his killers are brought to book,” said Khalwale at the time.

But the CID boss has assured that “Everything is being done to unravel the murder and the public will be informed as the investigation progress.”

On Thursday, family members and political leaders will hold a requiem mass at the All Saints Cathedral at 10am and thereafter, the public will get a chance to view his body at Uhuru Park.
