, NAIROBI, Kenya, May 12 – A middle-aged man is fighting for his life after sustaining serious injuries when he jumped from the eighth floor of Town House in Nairobi, in an apparent suicide attempt.

He suffered fractured limbs and was unconscious when he was rushed to hospital by personnel from the county government in an ambulance.

A witness told Capital FM News that he had earlier been spotted outside a foreign exchange bureau on Kaunda Street before he proceeded to the adjacent building’s top most floor.

“He just stood there without saying anything…the security guards had to move him out of the bureau forcefully,” a witness who sought anonymity said of the Thursday evening incident.

“He looked disturbed…he is a young man.”

Another guard manning a neighbouring building says he only heard of a loud thud only to realise, “its someone who has jumped the 8th floor of the building.”

Police say they will launch an investigation to establish the motive behind the suicide bid.
