NAIROBI, Kenya, May 13 – The widow of slain businessman Jacob Juma now wants Scotland Yard or FBI called in by the government to investigate the killing of her husband.

Speaking at a press conference at his home in Karen Friday morning, Miriam Wairimu said the family will also enlist the services of a private investigator because they are determined to get justice and know the truth.

She requested the government to supply them with the information they have so as to assist in the investigations.

“We as a family fully support the calls for the engagement of foreign help that is the FBI and the Scotland Yard to assist in the investigation of Jacob’s assassination. We are also looking to engage the services of a private investigator,” she stated.

Miriam also made numerous demands to the police, while seeking to know why they have never contacted her a week after the heinous murder that occurred on Ngong Road.

“The questions are, who found Jacob’s bullet ridden body, at what point was his body taken to the mortuary, why were the family not notified by the police about Jacob’s death,” she stated. “He had all his personal identification documents on him, he and his residents were well known to the local Karen Police. Why did the police not immediately secure the scene where Jacob’s body was found?”

She further requested that a record of his phone calls be given to the family to expedite the process.

“We wish to ask the Minister for Security Hon. Nkaissery and the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett to provide us with the following; the CCTV footage of Jacob’s car tracked to Ngong Road, the mobile telephone data detailing the various telephone operator locator masts Jacob’s phone travelled through on the night of May 5th and morning of May 6th,” she demanded.

“We ask only these two things for now. We shall be requesting more information in due cause and look forward to your cooperation for now,” she stated.

The body of the slain businessman will be flown to Kakamega Friday morning where there will be a public viewing ahead of his burial Saturday.

The burial will take place at his Mungore village in Bumula constituency and will be attended by top CORD politicians, including Raila Odinga who has sensationally claimed that Juma was assassinated by a police squad.

On Thursday, dozens of leaders joined the family for a requiem mass where they urged the government to expedite the probe into the murder.
