ISIOLO, Kenya, March 12 – President Uhuru Kenyatta assured Kenyan youths who are of age that they will be facilitated to get national identity cards.
He asked county commissioners to ensure that the youth get the important identification document without being harassed.
“So long as the youth who are of age are Kenyans, they do not have to be asked to go to the place of their parents’ origin for them to get the identification documents. They should be given the IDs where they stay,” President Kenyatta said.

Underlining the importance of security in development, President Kenyatta urged pastoralist communities to discard the retrogressive practice of cattle rustling. He also asked residents to cooperate with Government security agencies by exposing criminals.
“Cattle rustling is an out-dated culture that has no place in the present day Kenya. It has to stop because there will be no mercy for the perpetrators,” President Kenyatta said.
He also spoke against teenage pregnancies and early marriages, saying the two vices are undermining Government’s effort to ensure gender parity in education.
“We have invested heavily in education including meeting the cost of examination fees in all public primary and secondary schools. Female students, like their male counterparts, should be allowed to enjoy the fruits of education,” he said.
The President called on the residents to shun inciters and leaders bent on dividing them along political party affiliation, religious and tribal lines.
“You should live together harmoniously as Kenyans without discrimination,” he said.
He affirmed his commitment to ensuing equitable development of all parts of Kenya.
