, MOMBASA, Kenya, Mar 1 – Mombasa Police Chief Martin Asin was on Tuesday killed in a road accident that occurred in Maungu on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.

The officer was driving alone in his vehicle when it collided head-on with a light truck, leaving him with serious injuries, according to Mombasa Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa.

He was pronounced dead while being airlifted to Nairobi by AMREF.

Asin previously served in Nairobi Central Police station as deputy OCPD until August last year when he was re-deployed to Mombasa.
