The new measures require that all travelers from Angola must present Yellow Fever vaccination certificates which should have been issued within 10 days prior to their travel.
Acting Director of Medical Services at the Ministry Dr. Jackson Kioko says all the travelers will also be subjected to thorough check ups as part of measures to contain spread of the viral disease.
“Following the confirmations of Yellow Fever disease in two Kenyans who had traveled from Angola, the Ministry of Health and other government agencies are instituting measures in all Points of Entry with immediate effect,” Dr Kioko said in a statement.

“Kenyans without a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate will be denied exit,” he warned.
On Wednesday this week, the Kenyan health authorities raised an alert after a second yellow fever case was confirmed on a man who had been living in Angola for more than 10 years.
An earlier case involved a man who died at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) three days after arriving from Angola where he had lived for more than ten years.
Health workers in the country are under a directive to take precautions and isolate any patient suspected to have the viral disease before referring them to hospitals with a capacity to handle such cases.
Up to 250 people have died from yellow fever in Angola since late December 2015 when the first case was detected.
