NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 8 – Three government agencies were on Tuesday investigating rape and kidnap allegations against two Administration Police officers accused of gang-raping a 19 year old woman.
Head of the Sexual and Gender Based Violence in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) Jacinta Nyamosi told Capital FM News that the office is coordinating with the Independent Police Oversight Agency (IPOA) and Witness Protection Agency (WPA) to investigate allegations made by Daisy Karimi.
“IPOA should be completing the investigations and should be forwarding the files to the DPP. We wait for investigative agencies to do their part after the DPP orders them to investigate,” she explained.
Karimi alleged that the two APs who raped her in 2012 in Embu have been kidnapping and raping her as late as February 12, this year.
She narrated her ordeal in which one of the police officers after raping her imprinted his name using a sharp knife on her thigh and stomach.
To date, the imprints are still visible on her stomach and thigh.

People across the globe have called for justice for the 19 year old who apart from suffering several stabs on her body is epileptic.
Through the hashtag #JusticeForDaisy, they are appealing to government agencies to ensure she gets protection and the alleged rapists face the law.
One of the leads to the case will be finding out why one of the cops is still free despite a court in Embu issuing a warrant of arrest against him after he jumped bail in the rape case.
Issues that led to the collapse of the case owing to missing evidence in Karimi’s case will also be revisited in efforts to give her justice.
