Don’t let the country down, Uhuru tells Kenyan police

“Your success will be determined by your loyalty to the nation, patriotism and your commitment to duty,” said the CS.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said the police will reciprocate the increased funding for police reforms and welfare by working more diligently to protect Kenyans.

He called on the new officers to steer clear of illegalities and to perform their duties in a positive manner that satisfies Kenyans.

Acting Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police Service Joel Kitili told the officers to display discipline at all times and to never misuse their powers.

“Your success will depend on your integrity and loyalty to your country,” Kitili said as he urged the officers to know that they always have to be accountable.

“Discipline is paramount. Anything contrary will not be accepted,” Kitili said.

President Kenyatta presented four Police Constables with canes of honour and trophies for coming first in various fields.

Police Constables Rose Ntipanoi (Yellow Company), Kubai Mumbi (Blue Company) and Silas Kibet (Red Company) were awarded for being Best All Round Recruits.

Police Constable Alex Omondi (Green Company) was presented with the marksman trophy for Best Shot score of 48/50.
