The two were arrested at a roadblock in Isinya on the Nairobi-Namanga road last night and handed over to the Anti Narcotics Unit detectives for interrogation.
Head of the anti narcotics unit Hamisi Massa says the two were travelling from Tanzania when they were intercepted.
Massa said the drugs will be subjected to further tests at the Government Chemist before they are charged on Monday.
“We believe the substance found on the two women are narcotic drugs but we still want to subject them to further tests,” Massa said.
Police have tightened surveillance on the roads leading into the country from neighbouring countries following reports that most traffickers are avoiding the airports due stringent measures put in place by police.
