Judiciary on trial: Tunoi saga deals courts a blow

Regardless of whether or not Kidero compromised the Supreme Court, the confidence the Judiciary enjoyed with the promulgation of the Constitution, has taken a blow.

How the bribery charge against Tunoi is handled, true or not, therefore presents a litmus test of sorts; particularly, with the next General Elections in the horizon.

Kilonzo Jnr: “This is the first time such an accusation has been made against a Judge by a person who is not party to the case and it’s a delicate balance because you don’t want to scare off future whistleblowers and you don’t want to make it too easy to tarnish a reputation that’s taken decades to build.”
