The Governor indicated that individuals were given positions based on their qualifications and that some of those appointed had a number of degrees.
He was speaking after it emerged that a number of MCAs were not satisfied with the appointment of County Secretary Robert Ayisi to his current post.
“If a person has not just one degree or two degrees but five degrees, who can say that they cannot be given a job. If you have qualifications, then you will be given a job,” he stated.

The Governor further pointed out that the changes will also ensure transparency and accountability of City Hall staff in the discharge of their duties.
He also abolished the payment and dispatch of cheques to suppliers manually, stating that the process will now be fully automated to curb graft.
He stated that the changes within the finance sector will ensure proper management of scarce resources.
Kidero pointed out that in the last two and half years, the County Government has made positive gains “but more can be done to improve services.”
The re-organization involved structural and key personnel changes which Kidero said will guarantee not only enhanced efficiency of the county public service but also ensure transparency and accountability.
Kidero further called on all Kenyans to always focus on whether a leader they elected is delivering on his promises and not on the handouts they give.
“When you are given money, just take it, but anyone cannot give you money and then insult you in the same breathe. Even if you are going hungry, go hungry but sleep in your own house,” he advised. “There are things you cannot buy with money. You cannot buy honor, so people will come with sweet words, but do not sell your honour.”
