NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 6 – Police on Wednesday released names of four terror suspects wanted for the December Mandera bus attack in which two people were killed.

They include Mohamed Osman Aliow alias Issack Okola from Elwak, Abdullahi Dimbil Ahmed from Wajir, Mohamed Ahmed Farah from Wajir and Abukar Mohamed Yunis from Wajir.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet is appealing for information that will lead to the arrest of the terror suspects believed to be in hiding in the Mandera-Wajir border.

The four were identified, “following police investigations into the Makkah Bus attack in December 2015. The police urge the public to provide information.”

On the fateful day of the bus attack, Muslims shielded Christians who were targeted by the Al Shabaab terrorists who shot and killed two people.

The Muslim passengers told the attackers to either kill them together or leave them alone.

“These Muslims sent a very important message of the unity of purpose, that we are all Kenyans and that we are not separated by religion,” Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery said on December 21.

“Everybody can profess their own religion but we are still one country and one people. And that was a very good message from our brothers and sisters from the Muslim community.”

Last year, the Northern Kenya encountered a series of terror attacks with the major one being the Garissa University College attack which claimed 148 lives.

The government has vowed to root out terrorist in the region and in the country through an anti-terror campaigned.
