A meeting convened by the two leaders at State House, Nairobi also agreed to launch the party in March next year under the slogan ‘Tuko Pamoja’ (We are United).
A media brief from State House said the launch will take place after individual parties under the Jubilee Coalition receive a nod to dissolve and join the new party from their respective National Delegate Conferences.
“Jubilee Party is now available as a party belonging to every man, woman, youth and child from every corner of this nation, Kenya, “read the statement signed by Jubilee Party Interim National Governing Council Co-Chairpersons Noah Wekesa and Kiraitu Murungi.
“From here, we are moving to the counties to roll out the county programs from January next year and invite the public to participate in forming the county systems. These meetings will educate the party officers at the count level on the new party structure and give the public proper information about the new party. We shall also be targeting to dilute the past fears and reservations of our supporters in the grassroots.”
The meeting was attended by the Jubilee Governors, their deputies, MPs, Senators, while Speakers and Majority Leaders represented County Assemblies.
“We want to thank the President and his deputy for hosting the interim National Governing Council of the Jubilee Party. We are not looking back and shall face the future politics of Kenya with renewed resolve and vigour to change the political history of the nation,” said the statement.
President Kenyatta and Ruto in their address explained to the members the essence of creating one national mass party with the main objective being to unite the nation and all Kenyans and cure the past politics of division and ethnic based mobilisation.
In the last three months, the National Steering Committee has been busy formulating and designing the new party. It has held several meetings and consultations which led to Tuesday’s meeting.
It was the final meeting in which most important matters and affairs of the new party formed the agenda.
