NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 24 – President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday increased the number of Principal Secretaries from 26 to 41 as part of his efforts to combat corruption in government.

President Kenyatta said breaking down the state departments into 41 and putting a Principal Secretary in-charge of each is intended to increase accountability and eliminate corruption which is most prevalent in the area of procurement.

He said he increased their number following consultations with the Public Service Commission and a day after outlining his strategy to combat run-away corruption in government.
