NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 23 – Former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa has been arrested over hate remarks he made on Tuesday over the next general election outcome.

Aladwa was arrested by CID officers at the Railway Club here in Nairobi and is currently at the Kilimani Police station.

CORD leader Raila Raila Odinga was the first to arrive at the station soon after Aladwa’s arrest but he left shortly after.

CORD supporters and top leaders including Jackoyo Midiwo, James Orengo and Junet Mohammed are at the station with several other politicians in solidarity with Aladwa.

Aladwa’s arrest follows a directive by the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko who wants him questioned for inciting violence should should Opposition leader Raila Odinga lose the election.

CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro who spoke to Capital News beat from London says the investigation on Aladwa will be expedited and a file handed to the DPP for review.

Aladwa has however, blamed the media for misquoting him, claiming his remarks were not meant to incite violence.
