Kibue now Director of Police Operations

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 5- The National Police Service has announced another set of security changes affecting senior police officers.

Former Nairobi County Commander Benson Kibue will now be the Director of Operations of Kenya Police, while CID Deputy Director Gideon Kimilu has been replaced by Joseph Ashimalla.

Toroitich Chelimo will become the new GSU commandant replacing Joel Kitili who was nominated as the Deputy Inspector General in charge of the regular police.

Francis Mwangi will become the new Regional Commander in the Coastal region.

Ochola Juma will now be the new Director Internal Affairs Unit.

Jacinta Kinyua is the new traffic commandant replacing Charlton Mureithi.

The new changes come after the removal of the Deputy Inspector General in charge of Kenya Police Grace Kaindi.

Other changes include;

William S. Atswenje S/AIG, from Director KNEP ON SALW to commandant to commandant Kenya Police College Kiganjo.

Owino Ochieng, S/AIG from Director National Police Service Air wing to director police reforms in the office of Inspector General.

Ijora Nyongesa, AIG from Ag. Internal Affairs Unit to community policing Kenya Police Service.

Joseph Ole Tito AIG from commandant Kenya Airport Police Unit (KAPU) to commandant Anti-Stock Theft Unit.

Boniface Maingi AIG, from Chief Licensing Officer to Kenya Police headquarters.

Miriam Muli AIG, from Inspector General Office to Director of Inspections Kenya Police Service.

Robert Kitur AIG, from Mombasa County to police headquarters Kenya Police Service.

Philip Ndolo AIG, will be the new Kenya Airport Police Unit.

Stanley Lumai AIG, from OC marine police to Director of Personnel Kenya Police Service.

Joseph Kiget AIG, from IG’s office sports to Director Logistics Kenya Police Service.

Rodgers Mbithi (Lt. Col. Rtd), AIG from Commandant Air wing to Director National Police Service Air wing.

Massa Hamisi AIG, will now be the new Commandant Dog Unit.

Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet says the new changes take place with immediate effect.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has since attributed the changes to the need to scale up the war against terror, alcohol and drug abuse and cattle rustling across the country.

The move, he noted will “strengthen efforts to combat the threat of terrorism and the creeping threat of violent extremism, bring an end to the menace of cattle rustling and enhance the campaigns against illicit alcohol, drug trade and substances abuse.”
