NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 19 – Apostle James Ng’ang’a was Wednesday afternoon being held at the Gigiri Police Station following his arrest earlier in the day.

His lawyers Assa Nyakundi and Cliff Ombeta rushed to the police station to try and have him freed on bail but were unable to secure his immediate release.

Ng’ang’a was arrested just hours after he moved to the High Court to block his prosecution on the charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko Tuesday gave the green light for Ng’ang’a’s arrest and prosecution over the Limuru road accident that claimed Mercy Njeri’s life last month.

Simon Maina Kuria who is accused of taking the fall for Ng’ang’a and two officers accused of attempting to cover-up Ng’ang’a’s role in the accident also face prosecution.
