He added that tribalism negatively impacted on the Jubilee Government’s resolve to develop the country, and called on Kenyans to unite amid the adversity.

Ruto at the same time outlined the importance of electing visionary leaders and told the electorate to choose their representatives not based on tribe but on their deliverables.
“Those elected should be elected because they have a vision to transform the country and not because they belong to a particular tribe,” added the DP.
Ruto, who was speaking in Aldai Constituency, Nandi County where he attended an interdenominational service and fundraiser in aid of 82 churches in the region, condemned corruption and implored the public to report any cases to the respective investigating bodies.
The Deputy President decried the blatant mismanagement of public resources saying this was drawing back the gains made by the government in a bid to deliver its agenda ahead of the completion of its first term.
“We must stand shoulder-to-shoulder as the people of Kenya to make sure we save our country from wastage, mismanagement and corruption that which takes us backwards.” he said.
Ruto’s sentiments come in the wake of the recently publicized report by the Auditor General outlining spending of public funds by National and County Government offices.
The financial reports showed that over Sh60 billion could not be accounted for despite the ministries with the highest ‘illegitimate’ expenditure defending themselves against the accusations saying the reports were inconclusive.
The Auditor General has since called on Parliament to investigate the matter.
Sirisia MP John Waluke a member of the Opposition called on his counterparts to work with the government and preach peace, a day after criticism by former President Mwai Kibaki who blasted them for continuous criticism of the Jubilee Administration.
“Sometimes we talk tough on the government because we are in the Opposition but we know it is performing well,” said Waluke.
During the service attended by various leaders among them nominated Senator Beatrice Elachi, Nandi Senator Stephen Sang, Women Representatives Zipporah Kering (Nandi), Rachel Shebesh (Nairobi) and Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, Nandi Governor Cleophas Lagat pledged the regions’ support for the Jubilee Administration come 2017.
Ganze MP Peter Shehe also pledged the support of people from Coast region saying they were satisfied with the good job the government was doing across the country.
Other leaders who attended the service include MPs Elijah Lagat (Chesumei) Cornelly Serem (Aldai) Julius Melly (Tinderet), Dan Wanyama (Webuye West) Jones Mlolwa (Voi).
