The visit came after it emerged that a fake receipt was presented to prison authorities to have a suspect released.
The CJ said stringent measure will be put in place to ensure that genuine receipts are issued as provided by the law.
He however praised those who pay cash bail and thereafter appear in court, saying that is sign of good faith and goes on to demonstrate their refusal to give bribes to the traffic police.
He said that his office will liaise with police to ensure they follow the new regulations which require traffic police to give offenders notice to appear in court.
“There are powerful cartels in the traffic sector which must be dismantled if we are to fight corruption in the traffic sector” he said.

The CJ was accompanied by Anti-Corruption Court Chief Magistrate Kennedy Bidali and Daniel Ogembo of the Chief Magistrate’s Criminal Court.
The CJ toured the traffic registry and police cells to find out how records are kept and the manner in which suspects are released upon payment of cash bail.
