WASHINGTON, July 3- The Navy Yard in Washington was put on lockdown Thursday amid reports of an active gunman on the military facility, the scene of a deadly shooting two years ago, the US Navy said.
News reports said dozens of police cars were converging on the scene in southeast Washington.
The Navy Yard is the scene of a September 2013 shooting that saw a lone gunman fatally shoot 12 people and injure three others.
