Esipisu noted that preparations are in the final stages adding that Kenyans should avoid attempt to politicise the event.
“Given this delivery momentum, the government would want to urge Kenyans to shun political ‘marketeers’ powered by negative energy. I invite Kenyans to celebrate our country and treat the afro-pessimists who see nothing positive about Kenya with contempt. This is particularly important at a time when the world is converging in Kenya to celebrate our democracy, innovations and special positioning on the continent.”
The President’s spokesman said the conference is also a great opportunity for young innovators and entrepreneurs to brush shoulders with genuine global pedigree adding that “we believe that the information sharing and potential deal-making will be awesome next week.’
The government hopes to build on the great momentum set by President Obama’s visit to move on to host African Heads of Government in the African Peer Review Forum in September, and later the Global Conference of Tour Operators, the visit by His Holiness the Pope, and the 10th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization.
