The plane carrying the President and his entourage touched down at Bole International Airport shortly after 10am.
The conference, which will also be attended by the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim, is set to launch the Global Financing Facility in Support of Every Woman and Every Child.
The new initiative is as a result of technical work carried out by the World Health Organisation for a new fund, whose goal is to support health programs for women and children.
President Kenyatta’s presence at the conference is more significant because Kenya has been a forerunner in the new approach to finance women and children’s health issues through pooling resources from different sectors.
The Global Financing Facility is a new era in development-a breakthrough financing model that weaves together resources from countries themselves, international donors, and the private sector to accelerate advancements in the health of women and children.
