, NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 27 – Car & General has introduced Garmin Vivosmart activity tracker to the Kenyan health and fitness market.
The devise displays steps, calories, distance and time and has vibration alerts for calls, texts and emails from a smartphone.
Prolonged periods of inactivity decrease the body’s production of fat-burning enzymes. Garmin Vivosmart vibrates after one hour of inactivity as a reminder one needs to move.
“An activity tracker is a device that monitors and tracks fitness-related metrics such as distance walked or run, calorie consumption, heartbeat among others. Vivosmart learns ones current activity level and assigns attainable daily goals,” says Charles Ndegwa, the Garmin Business Manager at Car & General. “It has a heart rate monitor to record the heart rate and gives calorie burn information for any fitness activity such as a run or a cardio class at the gym”.
Car & General is the distributor of Garmin for navigation and hand held devices that offer surveying, farming, wild life conservation, hiking, fishing and many more.
