Duale told off those behind the campaign saying they should not personalise the war against terror and insisted he will hand the list over to security agencies as promised.
“I am very comfortable being the Garissa Township MP. The war against terror is not about Hon. Duale,” he said during news conference at his Parliament office.
Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and Mukurweini’s Kabando wa Kabando had earlier led 13 Jubilee Coalition MPs in calling on Duale to step aside.
Sakaja who is also The National Alliance (TNA) party chairman led the MPs in questioning why Duale who is the area MP, had to wait until the Garissa University College massacre to come forth with such revelations.
After the massacre, Duale led politicians and other leaders from the Northeastern in saying that they would name local Al-Shabaab sympathizers in 30 days.
“Our colleagues who said they know or are going to expose networks of terrorism, I want to tell them that they are taking far too long, and I hope they don’t think that Kenyans will forget or that they can take us for a ride. If anything they should all step aside until they give us the full list of this people or we take action as parliamentarians,” Sakaja stated.

Kabando says they believe the Northeastern leaders have vital information that would have possibly averted the Garissa University College attack in which 147 students and security officers were killed and 92 others injured.
The MPs rejected government’s call for amnesty for Al-Shabaab recruits saying they should be punished.
“We are hearing about clemency, we are hearing about negotiations, those are administrative actions that we don’t want to buy and to understand because they have no place. The enemy must either surrender or he is vanquished. We don’t want to hear about 10 days or 30 days as parliamentarians. All we know is you are an enemy you are killer, you are a murderer, you are an agent of satan and you have no place to exist,” Kabando stated.
Maison Leshomo (Samburu), Njogu Barua (Gichugu), Nelson Gachuhie (Subukia), Anne Nyokabi (Kiambu), Peter Weru (Mathira), Mary Wambui (Othaya), Zipporah Jesang (Nandi), George Theuri (Embakasi West), Henry Waihenya (Roysambu) were among the MPs attended the news conference held at the Parliament Media Centre.
The government on Tuesday offered a 10-day amnesty to youths who joined Al-Shabaab terror group and asked them report to County Commissioners in Nairobi, Mombasa and Garissa for further directions.
