Gitau left his home on Saturday evening but only his car was found near his gate Sunday morning, after the route to his home was found barricaded by unknown people.
Kabogo says a team comprising security officers and the National Youth Service has already been dispatched to the ward and the entire county to conduct a thorough search of the missing MCA.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure we find Gitau… I am appealing to members of the public to also provide any information that may help in finding this young leader,” he said.
The father of two is said to have left his Juja home at 8pm Saturday night to go and withdraw money from an Automated Teller Machine at Juja shopping centre but this was the last time he was seen or communicated to his family.
“I have not seen or heard anything that could be political in nature neither is he a controversial man; let’s not speculate and give police a chance; be patient with the government,” Kabogo said.
He is however hopeful that Gitau will be found alive.
Gitau had left his phone charging at home according to family members, making it hard for them to track his movements.
“He could not have called anybody in case of any problem,” a police officer who cannot be named because of his rank told Capital FM News on Monday. “It would have helped us to know who he spoke to and at what time.”

His fellow politicians and family members say he had not previously received any threats that can be linked to his disappearance.
The Leader of Majority in the Kiambu County Assembly, Patrick Chege, told journalists on Monday that Gitau was a composed man who was not known to pick quarrels with anyone.
“He was a good man… we cannot attribute his missing to anything… not even politics,” he said.
He however says that it’s slowly becoming a norm for his counterparts to receive threats that are never acted upon despite reporting to police, leaving them in a panic mode.
“We are now getting at our homes at 5pm…you cannot even meet your people to discuss what is happening because of fear,” he said.
“Most of us have received death threats but nothing happens after reporting to police…I am one of them.”
The missing MCA’s wife, Tabitha Wanjiku, expressed hopes of finding his husband alive after it turned out that reports that a body had been found near a coffee plantation in Juja turned out to be false.
