Memusi who rejoined the Orange party on Monday after losing the Jubilee Alliance Party nomination, this time outclassed his opponents by garnering 9,523 votes in a rare peaceful ODM poll.
His closest challenger Ole Parasha got 1497 votes, Peter Nkeri had 566 votes, Naomi Kipuru had 367 votes and Paul Ole Kiaka managed 288 votes.
Memusi who is seeking to replace Major-General (Rtd) Joseph Nkaiserry said he is ready to work for the people of Kajiado Central.
“To our father General Nkaiserry, I want to tell you have mentored a little general called Memusi, so continue moulding me and guide my step,” he said.
The self styled ‘little’ general also congratulated the party National Elections Board (NEB) led by Judy Pareno for organising and overseeing a credible process.
ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba and Director of Elections Junet Mohammed said the party will mobilise its resources to ensure it retains the only ODM seat in Kajiado County (other than that of the Governor).

“We want to tell the Executive that from this point on, we will do battle in the air using choppers, through the airwaves using word of mouth and on the ground using boda-boda to deliver this seat.”
Namwamba on his part urged the government against using State machinery to campaign for the JAP candidate.
“The Jubilee Coalition administration should not use State resources to sway Kajiado Central towards them, but if they do let them know are we are ready to much them pound for pound, dollar for dollar, shilling for shilling,” said the Budalang’i MP.
At the same time, Memusi extended yet another olive branch this time to the Jubilee Alliance Party – which he claims rigged him out of victory – by asking them to save their candidate from an embarrassing defeat.
“It is not too late for the Executive to see that their candidate was imposed… it is not too late for them to say because our candidate was imposed we have withdrawn him and ODM you can have you seat back.”
Namwamba and Memusi pledged to run an issue-based campaign addressing land matters, insecurity and improving the standard of living.
“I want to ask my supporters and also the party leadership that I don’t want to hear my campaigns being used to hurl insults or spread propaganda, I just want to focus on serving Kenyans,” Memusi stated.
“We are asking the General (Nkaissery), if he must say something to do with this poll let him to put in a word for our candidate; otherwise he should stick to Harambee House and concentrate on his security docket,” Namwamba said.
Memusi will be presented with the party’s nomination certificate on Monday by CORD Principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.
