NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 17 – Education Cabinet Secretary Professor Jacob Kaimenyi will launch this year’s Form One Selection exercise on Tuesday.

The ministry announced on Saturday that the exercise will take place at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) in Nairobi.

“The selected students will be expected to join form one between 2nd February, 2015 and 13th February, 2015,” the statement said.

This will be followed by the launch of County Form one Selection exercise on 26 and 27 of January, 2015.
The selection of the students into form one is based, like in recent years on merit, choice of the students, quarter system, equity and affirmative action.

The ministry said parents and students will be able to access information regarding which school their children have been admitted by sending their index numbers to 20042. Students who will have been selected into National Schools will be able to access the information immediately on the day the Ministry launches the exercise on Tuesday.

Students who will have been admitted into County Schools will access this information on 26th January, 2015.

The Ministry of Education, in conjunction with County Governments, will also conduct selection of students into Youth Polytechnics on 5th February, 2015. The selection aims at providing alternative education and training opportunities for students who, because of shortage of form one places, will not have been admitted into form one.
