NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 17 – The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results will be released on December 29, according to the Kenya National Examinations Council.

In a statement to newsrooms on Wednesday, the council’s Chief Executive Officer Joseph Kivilu says for parents to access the results; they will be required to send the candidate index number via SMS to 22252 immediately the release are out.

The results will be announced by Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi.

Kivilu said the candidates with withheld results will receive a letter through their respective head teachers explaining why the result has been retained.

“Upon receipt of the examinations results, thoroughly scrutinise the results for correctness and ensure accuracy of the names, index number and gender, school name and code,” he advised.

“Any discrepancy noted on the examination results should be communicated to KNEC as query within one month from the date of release of the examination results, including appeals for remarking.”

Over 800,000 candidates sat the examinations in 24,000 centres across the country.

A total of 19 inmates at the Shimo la Tewa prison facility also sat this year’s KCPE examination.
