Capital FM video was among most watched in Kenya

Shows

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 11 – It took her three hours and 46 minutes to complete the distance but it’s the time it took her to cross the finish line and run into her husband’s arms that captured the hearts of Kenya’s online viewing public.

The video of First Lady Margaret Kenyatta running into President Uhuru Kenyatta’s arms and posted by Capital FM during the inaugural First Lady’s Half Marathon is one of the top 10 videos watched by Kenyans on YouTube this year.

In just 24 seconds of footage, Capital FM continued its tradition of not only bringing Kenyans the most up-to-date news, but the news that matters most to them as the close to 160,000 views (at the time of publishing) bears testament.

The video that tops the list of top 10 Kenyan YouTube videos in 2014 is another that is close to Capital FM’s heart and it’s Safaricom’s Open Your Eyes Kenya video.

The video seeks to sensitise Kenyans on the plight of over 300,000 Kenyans who are visually impaired; a laudable effort which Capital FM was again at the forefront of covering.

Sauti Sol’s Nishike video is the most watched music video of 2014 at over 900,000 views (at the time of publishing) and once again Capital FM was not to be left behind, creating a parody that was once again one of the most widely viewed videos of 2014.

Capital FM’s WDJ slathered on some baby lotion and together with Capital FM presenter Miss Mandi, kept the good times rolling.

We plan to keep them rolling into 2015 with our video of President Uhuru Kenyatta driving himself from State House, presumably to tell his wife his case before the International Criminal Court was terminated, gathering over 6,000 views in under a week.

And given the uptake of Capital FM’s recently launched weekly online shows: Ask Kirubi, Our2Cents, The Chop up, The Scoop and The Grill, it’s quite evident that Capital FM not only brings you the best mix of music but the best possible, online experience.
