President Kenyatta, on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, first met His Royal Highness King Abdullah II of Jordan, with whom he discussed threats posed by terrorism to Kenya and the Middle East.
Jordan is a leading player in efforts to secure peace in the Middle East and President Kenyatta asked that Jordan shares its experiences and expertise in tackling emerging terrorism threats.
He also held talks with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh General Mohammed Bin Zayed, attended the meeting which focused on latest techniques in surveillance and other technologies the UAE uses in ensuring security for what has become an important regional business hub.
President Kenyatta also met the Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of UAE, His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed. He also held talks with the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdalla Bin Zayed.

“The President discussed cooperation and collaboration with the UAE and Jordan. We will be looking to follow these up with enhanced security and economic partnerships,” he said.
During President Kenyatta’s visit, a bilateral agreement between Kenya and the UAE for trade promotion was signed.
The agreement provides for promotion and protection of investments by investments.
The deal is also expected to boost the tourism industry with an offer by UAE to work out an arrangement where tourists can come through Abu Dhabi and Dubai to Kenya.
President Kenyatta departed Abu Dhabi for Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon after the end of his official trip.
He was seen off at the Abu Dhabi International Airport by the Chief of Staff and Permanent Secretary of the Crown Prince Court Mohamed Mubarak al Mazroei.
