The DPP says he wants the two prosecuted following a recommendation by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority which has been investigating the matter.
The girl was shot dead by police during a raid of their house by the officers who allegedly were looking for her uncle.
Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo has defended the officers saying they shot the girl after she tried to attack them with a machete.
The girl’s family and human rights activists have since dismissed Kimaiyo’s assertion, terming the execution an outright murder.
Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Odour has since confirmed that the girl died of a severe head injury, due to a gunshot.
Odour said the nature of the wound indicates that she was shot with a bullet at high velocity.
Her body was exhumed on September 12 for an independent post-mortem examination that was witnessed by family members and human Right groups.
The body was later taken to Kinango general hospital for second post mortem.
