Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Adan Duale says the Speaker has gazetted the sitting which will see MPs recalled from a two-month recess.
The House will consider the report by the Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations which conducted approval hearings into the suitability of Major- General Kameru to assume office.
“The office of the Director-General of NIS is very important to the nation’s security and stability,” said Duale.
If the House approves the nomination, Major-General Kameru who is currently serving as the Director of Military Intelligence will be sworn into office to replace Retired Major-General Michael Gichangi who resigned last month.
Speaker Muturi is also expected to respond to or make a ruling on a letter by Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma asking that he stop the vetting of Major-General Kameru on the basis that his appointment would entrench the ethnicisation of the national security apparatus.
Kaluma had asked the Speaker to ask President Kenyatta to nominate someone who is not from Central Kenya to the position.
The MPs will also debate the report of the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee on the 25 nominees for various ambassadorial postings.
