NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 1 – The wreckage of a light aircraft which went missing en-route to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport from Mwanza, Tanzania has been found but there are no survivors.

The wreckage was found within the vast Serengeti National Park with the three persons on board burnt beyond recognition.

Officials at the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said the aircraft left Mwanza and was headed to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where it was scheduled to land shortly after 8pm for a stop-over, before proceeding to Magadi.

According to Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary Michael Kamau, the Fokker 27 MK 500 aircraft operated by Safari Express Cargo Limited left Mwanza Airport at 7.26pm on Sunday night.
