The taskforce will comprise members of the NPSC, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, National Intelligence Service and the National Police Service.
The NPSC Chairperson Johnstone Kavuludi said they have already received complaints about nepotism, corruption and political interference.
“A multi-agency working group comprising above-mentioned parties has been formed and will be chaired by Commissioner Murshid Mohammed. They will collect, collate and analyse all complaints and make recommendations to the commission for further action,” he stated.
“A comprehensive audit report will then be issued. We wish to assure the citizens of Kenya that together we have undertaken a collaborative approach to undertake a comprehensive audit of the complaints received and will not hesitate to take stern action on anybody found culpable and where necessary such action shall include nullification of the exercise at the affected centres.”
He said the group will issue a report within seven days after which its recommendations will be enforced.
“The commission still continues to receive compliments, complaints and enquiries from members of the public through the Ministry of Interior and National Co-ordination, EACC, civil organisations among many others.”
The recruitment aimed to enlist 10,000 recruits who are expected to join the Police Service after a 15-month training period.
A member of the public with complaints has until July 24 to present them to the commission.
On the criteria used during the exercise, Kavuludi said: “We would like to confirm that these guidelines will the basic tool that will inform any decision affecting the outcome of the exercise.”
The exercise has been condemned with critics saying it was marred by massive irregularities.
