Kenyans against homosexuality, abortion – study

The study also showed that the majority of abortions, 64 percent, are procured at private clinics while 42 percent are induced in homes.

“The myth has been that abortions are procured by quacks in the back street but this is clearly not the case as a significant number of respondents indicated that they are done in private health centres,” the IPSOS report reads.

Drinking detergent or concentrated black tea being among the methods the respondents speculated, “Ill-advisedly,” Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Wahome Ngare said, were used.
