NAIROBI, Kenya, May 14 – The High Court has now issued a warrant for the arrest of former journalist Walter Barasa in an extradition case he’s facing.

The order was issued following an application by the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Yesterday, Barasa had moved to court for Justice Richard Mwongo to disqualify himself from the case on grounds that he was not impartial.

He says the case where the judge granted the Interior Minister Joseph ole Lenku leave to apply for a warrant of arrest against him was one-sided because he was not represented.

Barasa lost his bid to block the extradition in January.

The 41 year old activist is being sought by the ICC after he was accused of bribing three prosecution witnesses in the case against Deputy President William Ruto and Joshua arap Sang.

He has however denied the claims, accusing the ICC Prosecution of having a vendetta against him.
