NAIROBI, Kenya, May 29 – Political activist Moses Kuria’s Facebook account has been shut down two days after he was summoned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to answer queries about inciteful posts.

Kuria says his account was pulled down on Wednesday evening but he did not receive any notification from the global social site’s administrators.

The controversial political strategist is however still active on Twitter where he posted that shutting down his Facebook account would not frighten his resolve.

“They have shut down my Facebook account. They can do that but they will not shut down my resolve. I will be back!” he tweeted.

“I had just posted about me and Waititu inspecting KICC grounds today at 11.30. Comments were running fast and furious. Within less than 5 minutes the account was pulled down. Americans and CORD are determined to expel me from Social Media.”

Kuria had been summoned by the NCIC on Monday to clarify the alleged hate speech updates on his Facebook account following a complaint by the Law Society of Kenya.

On Wednesday, the National Steering Committee on Media Monitoring said it was contacting Facebook administrators over some seven other bloggers who have allegedly been posting obscenities and hate speech through their accounts.
