The discovery came barely a few hours after four people, among them two policemen were killed outside the Pangani Police Station after a suspicious car that they had intercepted exploded as it was being taken to the station.

While presiding over the GSU pass-out parade on Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta appealed to members of the public to provide information to police saying the Government will not relent in the war against terror.
“Let’s unite in fighting crime so that we can be able to expand our economy,” he appealed.
“This way, we shall be able to provide job opportunities to Kenyans…nobody will invest in a country without security.”
Security has been enhanced in the country more so in all major cities after the country was hit by a spew of insecurity cases.
The government has since affirmed that no amount of noise will distract the ongoing crackdown on terror in a bid to secure the country.
Senior government officials who spoke at the GSU pass-out ceremony led by President Uhuru Kenyatta criticised efforts by a section of human rights groups to politicise the security operation.
The president categorically stated that the government will not relent in its war against crime and terror where he also mourned the two police officers who were killed in an explosion at Pangani.
“Many diligent, courageous and good officers have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives in the defence and protection of life and property,” he stated.
“Yesterday, yet again two more gallant officers made that sacrifice, police constable Francis Murage and Samuel Cheptoo. I would like to ask all of you to join me in the moment of silence in their memories and that of all other officers who have given their lives for the protection of our people.”
He noted that the police officers lost their lives trying to avoid a scenario where more people could have been killed.
