NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 10 – Five senior officers from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) have been asked to proceed on compulsory leave to pave way for investigations into operations within the service.

A statement sent to newsrooms says the decision was reached after consultations between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources and the KWS management.

The five are the Deputy Director Finance and Administration, William Waweru, the Deputy Director Security, Julius Kimani, and Tom Sipul, who is the Deputy Director Corporate Services.

Also on the list are Wesley Isanda, the Head of Finance and Christopher Oludhe who is the Head of Procurement.

The PS in charge of the State Department of Environment and Natural Resources Richard Lesiyampe is on Friday expected to explain in detail the developments at KWS.
