NAIROBI, Kenya Mar 29 – Samburu East Member of Parliament (MP) Raphael Letimalo has been shot and injured following a robbery attack that occurred at his home last night in Ongata Rongai,

Letimalo is admitted to hospital in a stable condition, suffering from gunshot wounds on his legs.

Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue says Letimalo was being driven into his compound at about 9 pm when three gunmen who had been waiting struck and robbed him Sh30,000, two mobile phones and other valuables.

Kibue says the Samburu East MP had alighted to open the gate and did not have his bodyguard at the time of the attack.

Kibue said they are looking for the gunmen the attackers who managed to escape on foot after the shooting.

“That was an isolated case and we are looking for the gunmen. He is stable in hospital,” said Kibue.

He said his driver was not injured and they suspect the gang wanted to take off with his car when he resisted.
