NAIROBI Kenya, Mar 9 – Nyakach Member of Parliament Aduma Owuor has alleged that some politicians had planned the ongoing skirmishes along Sondu border that have left five people dead.
Owuor said the fighting that was on its third day Sunday cannot be pegged on cattle rustling.
He said youths from the neighboring Kericho County were being ferried in vehicles to come fight along the border.
Addressing journalists in Kisumu, Owuor urged police officers who were sent to restore order to remain neutral while executing their obligation.
“If the government of Kenya cannot protect our people then I will have to exhaust ways of reaching International Criminal Court (ICC) to get involved into these issues,” he said.
“Innocent people are losing their lives and at the moment we have lost five.”
Several houses along the border had been torched as tension remains high while six people are admitted in different hospitals in the region suffering from arrow wounds.
Nyakach police boss Dismas Wanjala on Saturday said that those killed mainly youths had arrow wounds while some still had arrows sticking on their bodies.
