NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 17 – The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko has appealed the dismissal of a corruption case against former Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Managing Director George Okungu and ex-Company Secretary Mary Kiptui.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, Tobiko said he disagreed with Justices Wesley Korir and George Odunga’s finding that he had “selectively” and “discriminatively” sought to prosecute the two for corruption.

“It is patently wrong for the two judges to purport to determine for the DPP who gets to be charged with an offence and who serves as a prosecution witness,” he said in his statement.

The two were charged with abuse of office over the sale of KPC houses to members of staff and the National Intelligence Service.
