Commission Chairman Johnstone Kavuludi in his petition said that the two commissioners would replace Shadrack Muiu who has been sick for over a year and Esther Chui Colombini who passed on last year.
In his appeal, also copied to National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Kavuludi indicated that the appointments should be expedited to fill the vacuum.
Colombini who was the National Police Service Commission deputy chairperson passed away in November last year.
Colombini was appointed as one of the commissioners to the NPSC by the former president Mwai Kibaki in 2012.
Her colleagues at the commission were businessman Ronald Musengi, lawyer Murshid Mohammed, Major (rtd) Muiu Mutia and former police officer Mary Awuor.
Considering regional balance, Muiu will be replaced by a senior retired police officer from North Eastern while Colombini’s replacement will come from Central Kenya.
The National Police Commission last month drew a lot of attention as they undertook vetting of senior police officers as part of the police reforms agenda.
