He has also directed the police to charge the City Women Representative with creating disturbance, following the confrontation that occurred outside the Governor’s office.
An official at the DPP’s office told Capital FM News on Wednesday that evidence collected by the police is sufficient to sustain both charges in court, but he did not say when the two will be charged.
“The file has been forwarded to the CID with those instructions, it is now up to them,” the official said, but Capital FM News has independently established that the instructions were issued on December 8 last year and only made public on Wednesday.
There was no explanation from the DPP’s office or from the CID on why the information was not made public at the time.
Shebesh had accused Kidero of assaulting her in an incident that was captured on camera as she led protesters to his office in September.
Kidero too recorded a statement at the Central Police station, accusing Shebesh of assaulting her.
