The legislator was being detained at the Central Police Station while the officer who reportedly sustained injuries had been taken to hospital for treatment.
“We are holding the MP after the incident in which he assaulted one of our officers,” Central Divisional Police Chief Patrick Oduma told Capital FM News on telephone.
He said they were preparing to charge the legislator later on Friday afternoon.
“We will prefer charges against him,” Oduma said of the incident that occurred at the Globe Cinema Interchange.
