Traffic Commandant Samuel Kimaru said the minibus crashed when the driver tried to evade a saloon car heading towards its direction.
“The driver of the minibus was trying to evade a small car whose driver was driving carelessly on the road,” he told Capital FM News.
The minibus lost control falling on one side killing the pedestrian.
“I am also told that a number of pedestrians have been injured,” he said.
The accident occurred at the same spot where another accident occurred on July 15 when a bus rammed onto a crowd killing four pedestrians.
The accident has occurred as the Traffic Commandant continues with a road safety campaign countrywide.
