The man in his mid 30’s told police he had killed wife after she failed to give him back his Sh50, in an incident that left Kawangware residents shocked.
“We are holding him over the murder which he has confessed,” a senior police officer at the Kilimani police station said, adding “the man took officers to his house where the body was found.”
According to police, the incident occurred at Gatina area and was reported at the Muthangari police station.
A report filed at the station states that the couple had been quarrelling over Sh50 when the man grabbed a kitchen knife and butchered the wife, cutting off her intestines.
“We have recovered the knife used in the killing and it is one of the evidence to be produced in court once the man is arraigned,” the officer said.
Nairobi County Police chief Benson Kibui confirmed the incident but did not offer much detail.
